Riva Spain makes engineered wood flooring in Europe. SRQ Modern is an authorized dealer and installs it with its own crews, which is a less common arrangement than it sounds: most flooring is sold by one company and laid by whoever the customer finds afterwards.
Why a European engineered board, in Florida
A solid plank is one piece of timber and it moves with the air around it. An engineered plank is real hardwood over a cross-laminated core, and the core is the part that holds it still through a humid August. The wear layer is wood, so it reads as wood — the engineering is underneath, where the climate argument happens.
It has its own room
The showroom carries a dedicated Riva gallery in the second building, and the boards in it are full length rather than sample chips. That is not a display choice, it is the only honest way to judge a wood floor: grain, sheen and the variation between boards only make sense across a run, and a 6-inch sample has told you almost nothing about what a room will look like.
