SRQ Shield Sealing & Restoration
Sealing, protection and restoration for stone, brick, concrete and grout.
Sealing is the least glamorous line on any quote and the one that decides how the rest of it looks in five years. Stone, brick, concrete, pavers and grout are all porous to some degree. Left open, they take on water, salt, oil and whatever the last storm carried across them — and the marks that result are in the material rather than on it.
What we treat
Natural stone, brick, poured and decorative concrete, pavers, and tile grout. Interior and exterior, though the coastal exterior work is where it earns its money.
Restoration before protection
Sealing a stained surface locks the stain in. So the order is always the same: assess what the surface is, clean it with something the material can take, correct what can be corrected, and only then seal. A surface that has never been sealed usually needs the first two steps; a surface that was sealed with the wrong product sometimes needs that product removed first.
What sealing does and does not do
It buys you time and it makes cleaning easier. It does not make a surface bulletproof, and any sealer is a consumable with a service life measured in years rather than decades. Exposure, traffic and how often the surface gets wet all move that number, so you get a recommended re-treatment interval for your specific surface rather than a generic one.
Where it fits with everything else
Newly installed stone and grout get sealed as part of handover. Shellcrete and decorative concrete are sealed as part of the finish. This service exists for the surfaces that are already there — the lanai that came with the house, the paver drive that has gone green, the travertine that has started to pit.
